On 25th Januar 2014 Kaicho Thomas Züllich founded his style Todejutsu.

Todejutsu means „emty fighting hand“. The term „Tode“ (for Tang hand, China hand or Okinawa-Te) was ins use before 1912. There are three variations of Te in Okinawa in the villages Naha, Shuri and Tomari.
These styles were named accordingly Naha-te, Shuri-te and Tomari-te and belong to the family of martial arts which were defined together as Tode Justu / Karate-Jutsu oder To-de. The character has been in use until today, but is read as Kara-te. Todejutsu contents mainly punches, kicks, blocks and throwing techniques including foot sweeps. Lever and weapon techniques (such as Tonfa, Sai and Bo) as well as Atemi and strangling techniques are also included in Tode Jutsu after mastering the basic techniques. The hardening of extremeties as a weapon is an important goal in Todejutsu and has to be proven with Tameshiwari (breaking test) in examinations.

The 26 Shotokan Katas are the fundament of Todejutsu.
Additionally there are 16 more Kata to round up this style:
Taikyoku Jodan no Kata,Taikyoku Chudan no Kata,Taikyoku Gedan no Kata,Taikyoku JoChuGe no Kata,Taikyoku Kake Uke no Kata,Taikyoku Mawashi Uke no Kata
Heian Shodan no Tonfa,Heian Nidan no Tonfa,Heian Sandan no Tonfa,Heian Yondan no Tonfa,Heian Godan no Tonfa
Heian Shodan no Sai,Heian Nidan no Sai,Heian Sandan no Sai,Heian Yondan no Sai,Heian Godan no Sai

Those forms which include weapons are not taken from classic Kobudo. Those shall teach the use of classic weapons in combination with Karate Kata to get a better understanding for distance and technique.

There are 20 more Kata from Shorin Ryu, Goju Ryu, Wado Ryu, Kyokushinkai and Fudokan. Those shall emphasize the idea of cooperation, respect and completion between Karate styles.

The Todejutsu Kumite includes:
Kihon Kumite,Tanren Kumite,Tanren Kumite,Gohon Kumite,Sanbon Kumite,Kihon ippon Kumite,Kaeshi ippon Kumite,Jiyu ippon Kumite,Okuri Kumite,Oyo Kumite,Kata Kumite,Happo Kumite,Jiyu Kumite,Renshu Kumite,Shizen Kumite,Tanshiki Kumite,Shobu Kumite,Shiai Kumite,Kyogi Kumite,Jissen Kumite,Jissen Kumite,Goshin Kumite,Bogu Kumite,Heiko Ho Kumite,Ippoido Ho Kumite,Shikake Kumite,Machi Kumite,Awase Kumite.

Todejutsu does not invent Karate as a whole new art. Modern knowledge from our times is included along with fundamental basics of Karate. With adapting the known styles and the use of classic weapons everybody can learn and practice Todejutsu in a short time.
Practicing traditional Karate for Kaicho Züllich means to not ignore the new, but to honor and save the traditional approach hand in hand with modern development.
